Frequently asked questions

I’ve never experienced therapy before. What can I expect?

Therapy is not a one-size fits all experience and before we begin working together, I want to make sure you feel like I’m the right fit for you and your journey. Your sense of safety and comfort with me is the most important piece for having a successful therapeutic experience. I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation where I can tell you a little about myself, how I practice, and answer any questions you might have.

Do you accept insurance?

I currently am an in-network provider with Aetna and United Healthcare for residents of Missouri and Kansas through the use of a third party billing company, Alma. If you hold insurance outside of these providers, therapy is self-pay. If you are currently interested in using an insurance that I am not in-network with, I am happy to provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance to bill your out of network benefits.

For those who are needing financial assistance in affording therapy services, therapy scholarships are available. Please inquire for more information about scholarships available.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept HSA, FSA, most major credit cards, and debit cards, cash and check.

Do you only work with women and birthing parents for perinatal therapy?

Nope! Perinatal mental health transcends gender and biology. Non-birthing individuals can also experience perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I work with both birthing and non-birthing individuals of all identities as well as foster and adoptive parents.

Can I bring my baby to session?

Yes, absolutely!

Do you work with individuals not seeking perinatal therapy?

Yes! I am very passionate about helping those in the perinatal years and working with women, but I also enjoy working with individuals going through anxiety, depression, trauma, and the stresses of everyday life.

Where are you located?

My office for in-person appointments is located in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. However, I am a licensed therapist in both Kansas and Missouri and am available to help individuals and couples residing in those states virtually.

I think I’m ready to schedule. How do I make an appointment?

You can book a free consultation call through my client portal or you can e-mail me to set up a time to chat. I’m looking forward to connecting with you!
